Following a presidential proclamation from earlier in the day, Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin ordered all U.S. and State flags state facilities be lowered to half-staff Tuesday afternoon.
The gesture is meant to honor victims of Monday’s bombing at the Boston Marathon in Boston, Mass. Flags are to be flown at half-staff until sunset on Saturday, April 20.
“Joanne and I continue to pray for the victims and families affected by this act of terror,” Gov. Tomblin said. “I ask all West Virginians to keep them in their thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.”
