Del. Josh Nelson promoted to 2nd Lieutenant
May 16, 2013 by Zack Harold
Delegate Joshua Nelson, R-Boone, has completed officer training with the West Virginia Air National Guard. He’s now Second Lieutenant Nelson.
The West Virginia Air National Guard activated Nelson earlier this year. He spent six week in training, but was forced to abandon the 2013 regular legislative session about halfway through.
Nelson first joined the military in 2006, when he enlisted with the United States Marine Corps Reserves. He later moved to the West Virginia Air Guard.
“I am so pleased to receive this promotion. I love serving our country and state through the West Virginia Air National Guard. I am privileged to be among so many honorable men and women from across West Virginia who have committed to serving our state through the Air Guard,” Nelson said in a press release.
Nelson said he regretted having to leave the legislature while it was in session, but has no intentions of quitting the Air National Guard.
