It’s been three months since the end of the regular legislative session and although the next school year is less than a month away, the state Board of Education is still tweaking pieces of the education reform bill.
Board members held a special meeting on Wednesday to make further changes to the teacher hiring process. As education reporter Shay Maunz reports, a board policy meant to include teachers in the hiring process (via their faculty senates) actually has worked to keep them out, at least temporarily.
