CHARLESTON – The Charleston Urban Renewal Authority learned the Charleston Area Alliance may consider facilitating a business improvement district for downtown Charleston.

Thursday

COUNTY – The Kanawha County commission approved the county’s FY 2105 budget.

In other Kanawha County local government news, Charleston Mayor Danny Jones has expressed opposition to a provision of SB 317 which allows concealed carry firearms in municipal recreation centers (South Charleston and Dunbar mayors have also expressed concern), and Kanawha County public safety entities and KRT are pushing for voters to reapprove the county’s safety levy in May.
