We go from National Signing Day, introducing you to the Marshall players of the future, to the NFL Combine, where one of the Thundering Herd’s all-time leading receivers will try to help his draft stock.
Wide receiver Aaron Dobson, who finished his Herd career tied for fourth in career touchdown catches (24) and alone in ninth in career receiving yards (2,398), has been invited to the NFL Combine. His is Marshall’s only invitee and one of nine from the 2012 lineup of Conference USA teams.
Dobson was a member of the North roster at the 2013 Senior Bowl. He didn’t record a catch in the game — though some of that probably had to do with the less-than-stellar performance of the North’s quarterbacks – but he impressed a lot of analysts during the practices in the days leading up to the game.

Draft experts like Mel Kiper Jr. think Dobson could enter the discussion as a late first-round sleeper pick. He could solidify that at the Combine.
