Then you’re out of luck if you’re covering this game. Just soft drinks up here.
I’m sitting in FAU’s press box with what might be the best view in Conference USA. Check this out …
Yes, that’s the Atlantic Ocean in the background. I can feel your anger from here.
Outside of the spectacular view, there’s one key bit of news before the game. Running back Steward Butler, a Lakeland native and a guy who gashed defenses earlier in the season, is not here today. That puts Remi Watson in Marshall’s three-back rotation and has me figuring we’ll see a steady diet of Kevin Grooms and Essray Taliaferro. It’ll be interesting to see what comes of this absence.
DT Joe Massaquoi and S Corie Wilson, a Miami native, aren’t here either. But WR Craig Wilkins, DT Brandon Sparrow and DE Armonze Daniel are. They could use Wilkins, who has become the steadiest outside receiver the Herd has so far.
I have a feeling this game could be closer than some think. The only conference game in which FAU was soundly beaten was East Carolina. The Owls took Middle Tennessee to overtime and probably would have beaten Rice if Jaquez Johnson was the quarterback … and he’s playing today.
That looks like all the news from here. Follow me on the Twitter machine at @derekredd, for that’s where the rest of the news will be found from here on out. Otherwise …
