On Saturday, Macy’s will host its 8th annual Shop For A Cause benefiting charities nationwide.
Since 2006, Shop For A Cause has raised more than $45 million for charities across the country. Tomorrow’s event benefits the March of Dimes — 100 percent of the proceeds from the sale of the coupons will benefit the organization in its mission to help moms have full-term pregnancies and research the problems that threaten the health of babies.
For $5, you get a savings pass that will take 25 percent off your purchase of regular, sale and clearance items (including home) or 10 percent off in other departments, such as electronics and watches.
As always, some exclusions do apply, but the Shop For A Cause pass DOES work on many popular brands that are usually excluded from Macy’s regular promotions. For instance, the coupon looks like it would work on purchases of Coach handbags and Le Creuset cookware made in-store. Of course, I am not a Macy’s clerk, so please consult with one prior to making your selection.
You can use your pass all day Saturday, and you’ll also be eligible to win a $500 gift card.
This year, you can use your mobile phone to buy your savings pass by texting SHOP to 20222 (the $5 donation will appear on your next phone bill). You can also buy a pass online, or in store.
You can also RSVP to the Shop For A Cause event on Facebook to get your friends in on the fun, too! Happy shopping!
