My wife and I were up at the crack o’ dawn this past Saturday for the East End Yard Sale, an annual event where Charleston’s East Enders drag stuff they no longer want onto their lawns for other people to purchase.
I found the following nerd gems among the baby clothes, exercise equipment and knickknacks:
We didn’t actually buy any of these things (I spent all morning trying to convince Whitney to let me get the kayak one guy was selling) but we did come away with some cool stuff. Whitney scored a wreath for our front door and some art for our dining room, a rug for our kitchen and a nightlight from The Greenbrier. I got a $1 copy of “The Prophet” by Kahlil Gibran and a Boss distortion pedal for $10.
I had my eye on this child-sized drum set — I figured it would look cool/weird in my little home studio — but some drunk guy got to it before I could.
