The Kanawha Charleston Humane Association will have its annual Howl-o-ween Pet Pageant and Parade on Saturday, October 15, with registration beginning at 10 a.m. at the shelter.
For an entry fee of $5, participants can show off their pets in costume and compete in a variety of categories: scariest, cutest, best former shelter pet, and best overall. Gift baskets of pet supplies and other items will be awarded to the winners.
Local news reporter Atish Baidya of WCHS TV will serve as emcee for the event. Pets will be judged by a panel including WCHS personalities Kennie Bass and Ashley Smith, WOWK TV anchor Jack Kane, and John Rutherford, Chief Deputy of the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department.
Registration will begin at 10 a.m. with the parade starting at 11. For more information, contact the shelter at 304-342-1576.
