Boxer Pulled from Shelter to Avoid Being Put Down – Please help!

Say hello to Mei Mei, a 2 year old female.

A shelter volunteer took her home to foster Sunday because it seemed she was likely to be put down yesterday.

Please spread the word and help this poor pup.

Her owner turned her in to the Kanawha Charleston Animal Shelter in early November. This picture was two weeks ago. She is a lot skinnier now if you can believe that.

Her name was actually Maymo when she was first turned in and volunteers started calling her May May. A vet today said Mei Mei is Chinese for “little sister” — so the spelling was changed.

Please post back if you have an interest in making her part of your home. Thanks!

Can you put some information on here about what’s involved in fostering?

I have two dogs already. I really can’t take another one unless it would be another tiny dog. But I would be interested in fostering. Especially in warmer weather months because I have a cabin in Hinton where I take my dogs for outdoors activities.

    Thank you.
